| Our Aims |
1. To lead the development of the masters’ game in England
(and the UK where relevant).
2. To advise the Board of Directors on strategic and policy aspects
of masters’ squash.
3. To increase and widen participation in masters’ events.
4. To work closely with the Chief Executive and his/her staff in the
development, management and delivery of Masters’ squash in England
(and the UK where relevant).An England Squash Member is
defined as a Master if he or she 35 is years of age and older. |
| Terms of Reference: |
1. to establish and develop effective communications channels with
masters players within the UK, including: 1.1 the
creation and development of a masters’ web site as part of
the England Squash site, with links to other relevant web sites.
1.2 Extensive use of e-mail, including a regular e-mail newsletter
to players and clubs.
1.3 Periodic players’ meetings at major events.
1.4 Regular coverage of the masters’ game in The Squash Player
and other publications and media.
2. to review and develop the competition programmes for masters’
players, including: 2.1 inter-counties / regional
events
2.2 national championships
2.3 British Open (or other international events)
2.4 a programme of new events as appropriate
3. to encourage and increase participation in masters’ events
at all levels.
4. to make recommendations regarding the management of the home international
events and to advise and assist in their organisation.
5. To establish clear selection criteria and processes for England
teams at masters’ level (and to publish these on the web site)
6. To assist and advise in the appointment of Chairs of selectors.
To ensure they have clear (written) roles and are accountable to the
Board via the Masters’ Committee.
7. To establish a positive and constructive working relationship with
the Veterans Club of Great Britain with the objective of developing
programmes and initiatives of mutual benefit. To liaise with the Veterans
Club of GB and with England Squash Events Department to ensure masters’
events are represented and co-ordinated within the annual Calendar
of Events.
8. to establish and strengthen sustainable links with other nations
at masters’ level and to contribute to the development of masters’
squash internationally.
9. to raise the profile of masters’ squash.
10. to increase membership of England Squash amongst masters’
age groups by presenting an attractive package of benefits to masters’
players at club, county and national levels.
11. to attract sponsorship for masters’ events and other initiatives.
12. to provide support for other areas of the games of squash, including
coach education, refereeing and volunteering where relevant. |
