Can all entrants  make sure if  they have not  changed their earliest Fri Start time.from 1400hrs that they can play at that time.

We won't be modifying the draw after it is made to accommodate any changes necessary because of this

The latest list is at http://www.englandsquashmasters.com/logon/Entries/Entries089/east.asp

Also play note that the closing date for the West of England may have to be brought forward to Fri 10th Oct to accommodate the webmaster who will be heading for New Zealand shortly after -  if the draw is to be published on  the web.

A message from our Publicity Guru

It is probable that Masters (Age Group) Squash forms the largest participant  pool of squash players in the country.  This is evidenced by looking at teams playing in County Leagues, the make up of players in clubs and the surging numbers participating in Inter County events and Open tournaments.   Until fairly recently, very little squash was available to the aging player and the introduction of England Squash Masters a few years ago has been a phenomenal success in becoming the focus for Masters Squash.

By using the ESM web-site,  (www.englansquashmasters.com )players in the UK and abroad have been able to discover all they need about events and players.   Home players have had events advertised to them as diverse as the Hungarian Masters, the Sunshine masters (France) and the European Masters Games (Sweden).

We are trying to promote our site to more and more players, trying to involve ever more squashophiles in the Masters game.  Your club should have a flier on the wall designed by England Squash with   www.englandsquashmasters.com  on it.  (Notice how I surreptitiously mentioned the web-site). One of its drawbacks is its colour and the picture of Ian Bradburn on it, but it is a useful advert.  Most committee members have spare copies.

We send regular articles to the Squash Player magazine, but space is at a premium and they are usually cut back.  But we have had some success with the on line sites and I would like to recommend three to you.   www.squashsite.co.uk  & www.squashplayer.co.uk  are UK based  and a new site. www.squash360.com  is Canadian.  All cover world squash and at our instigation/badgering/pleading are cranking up Masters Squash.  We will this season be updating these sites with our tournaments and reports.   Hopefully this will generate more interest and feedback. Links are on the web-site.

There is a growing Masters scene now.  The Veterans Club of GB have regular matches, tours and tournaments, and counties have age group events as do many clubs.   A European 'tour' is being considered by the European Federation to involve four or five events and of course, there are the Regional Open tournaments throughout the English season.   Go to www.englandsquashmasters.com for more information.   You see, I got the web-site mentioned again.  Perhaps you can do the same to people you know who may be interested.

Any further ideas on the promotion of  Masters Squash, please let us know.

Stuart Hardy.

NOTE

As the Webmaster is taking a few days off, any email or registration queries may not be dealt with until early next week
